UnityPoint Health is seeking a Part Time Dietitian to deliver nutritional care for Siouxland PACE participants as part of an interdisciplinary team. The role involves assessing needs, planning and implementing care, and reporting results.

Flexible hours occur Monday through Friday as part of the PACE Day Center team. The dietitian will maintain professional competencies and collaborate with care providers, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local nutrition regulations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in dietetics or equivalent per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics guidelines.
• Registered Dietitian status or eligibility with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Internship or coordinated program completed per ADA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess nutritional needs and develop care plans.
• Provide nutrition care as part of the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Implement and monitor nutrition interventions.
• Document participant information in the EMR.
• Attend Interdisciplinary Team meetings and participate in care planning.
• Comply with applicable PACE regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable PACE Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, the Compliance Accountability Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to assure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
• Obtains and evaluates nutritional and medical history, laboratory data, test results, current medications, current diet orders and nutritional regimen to determine participant’s estimated nutritional needs.
• Recommends and implements nutrition interventions that assist in maintaining or improving nutritional-related medical diagnoses.
• Completes nutrition assessments for participants per regulatory guidelines and when needed to assist in developing participant’s plan of care and service delivery requests.
• Instructs participants, family members, staff and contracted providers/facilities on diet, food safety and sanitation.
• Documents pertinent participant information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and the participant plan of care.
• Attends Interdisciplinary Team meetings daily and team activities when scheduled.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• After January 1, 2024, Master's degree in dietitics or degree that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietitics.
• Individuals credentialed as Registered Dietitians prior to January 1, 2024 are eligible with a Bachelor's degree in dietitics or degree that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietitics.
• Successful completion of internship or coordinated undergraduate program that meets the American Dietetic Association guidelines.

License(s)/Certification(s)

• Registration or registration eligible with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Licensed or licensed eligible with the State of Iowa
• Current CPR/BCLS certification
• Maintains current Adult Mandatory Reporter status
• Maintains American National Standards Institute accredited food protection/safety certification (i.e. ServSafe Food Protection Manager/Certified Food Safety Manager) or obtained within 90 days for new hire.
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid Auto insurance
