Job summary

Moraga Post Acute is seeking a dependable Part-Time Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents, following therapeutic diets and approved menus. The role requires attention to portion control, food safety, and sanitary kitchen practices, with weekend and holiday availability as needed.

You will work with the dietary team to ensure quality meals, accurate labeling, and timely service while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Healthcare cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety practices preferred.
• Food Handler's Certificate required or must be obtained upon hire.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Follow therapeutic and physician-ordered diets (diabetic, low-sodium, mechanical soft, pureed).
• Ensure proper portions and appealing presentation of meals.
• Monitor food quality, temperatures, and safety procedures.
• Assist with meal tray preparation and timely service; maintain clean kitchen.
