Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a part-time Development Coordinator to assist the School Engagement Director with fundraising, scheduling Kick Off Assemblies, and coordinating materials for local schools in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Role includes data entry, order processing, and travel to schools as needed.

This temporary position is funded through Spring 2027 and reports to the School Engagement VP. The ideal candidate has strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills to support

Qualifications

• Three years of prior experience in a supporting role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
• Excellent written communication skills
• Demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to work with all social strata, occupations, and a variety of backgrounds.
• Ability to travel to/from home to local schools.
• Ability to work as part of an integrated team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the local School Engagement Director with their fundraising duties such as helping to schedule/implement Kick Off Assemblies and delivering/picking up various items from local schools (mileage reimbursement will apply).
• Data entry, spreadsheet management and expense report assistance
• Helping to facilitate online material orders for schools and staff
• Working with local print vendor to help facilitate print orders
• Ensure adherence to all national and regional School Engagement policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Collaborate with national and regional counterparts in other areas of the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
