Job summary

Tinker Creek Dental Care, part of Heartland Dental, is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant in Roanoke, VA. You will greet patients, review health histories, assist during procedures, and manage digital records with Dentrix and iTero tools.

We value patient-first care, ongoing training, and a supportive team environment. The role requires X-ray certification and HIPAA training, with a flexible schedule Tuesday–Thursday and additional Fridays as needed.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state act.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to aid quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, etc.).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and records.
• Prepare treatment room following safety protocols and OSHA/CDC guidance.
• Manage supplies and place orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems.
