Job summary

Flushing Community Schools seeks an Interpreter for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing to support the Early Childhood Center. The position runs 4 hours per day for the 2026-2027 school year and requires licensing and certification per Michigan rules.

Qualifications

• EIPA score 4 or better or Michigan BEI or RID NIC or RID certification recognized in Michigan.
• Must be qualified for elementary or secondary grade level under Michigan interpreter rules.

Responsibilities

• Regular and consistent attendance.
• Interpret and transliterate to facilitate communication between deaf/hard of hearing students and hearing staff.
• Interpret according to each student’s IEP specifications.
• Act as a resource to teachers, administrators, and families regarding interpreter services.
• Maintain all licenses and certificates and report expirations to the Business Office.
• Other duties as assigned.
