Job summary

Adams 12 Five Star Schools seeks an Educational Interpreter to facilitate communication for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, using a preferred manual mode. You will tutor students, translate between modalities, and support staff to ensure understanding of instructional content.

The role requires completion of an Interpreter Preparation Program and CASE/PSE or ASL proficiency. This is a part-time, 0.90 FTE position in Thornton, with a structured salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree from an Interpreter Preparation Program (IPP).
• Proficient in CASE/PSE, and ASL.
• No experience required; 1 year preferred in educational interpreting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate all academic instruction for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
• Tutor Deaf/Hard of Hearing students individually or in small groups.
• Communicate with the education team about progress and needs.
• Assist with hearing equipment and monitor behavior when needed.
