Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a part-time Developmental Adapted Physical Education Teacher in Brooklyn Park, MN. The role is 0.5 FTE (20 hours/week) for the 2026-2027 school year, in-person with a focus on supporting students through adapted physical education aligned to IEPs.

Required: Minnesota DAPE license (Tier 3/4), Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physical Education or related field, and 3 references. Competitive pay and benefits are provided for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Education or related field.
• Active Minnesota DAPE license through PELSB (Tier 3 or 4).
• Previous classroom experience preferred.
• Three references/letters of recommendation required.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized adapted physical education goals aligned with students’ IEPs.
• Plan and teach modified physical activities to improve motor skills, coordination, strength and fitness.
• Adapt equipment, games and instruction for safe inclusive participation.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and families to support student development.
• Monitor progress, document outcomes and adjust instruction to meet goals.
