Job summary

The YMCA is seeking an Occupancy Team Member to support daily custodial and maintenance tasks, keeping spaces clean, stocked, and guest-friendly. You will help create a positive experience for members and guests by maintaining a safe, welcoming center environment.

The role offers flexible hours up to 28 per week. You should be organized, able to lift up to 20 pounds, and ready to operate cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift up to 20 pounds.
• Experience in custodial or maintenance work is a plus but not required.
• Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming center environment by completing custodial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, and ceiling vent cleaning.
• Communicate facility maintenance needs and operational concerns to center leadership and provide solutions when appropriate.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and preventative maintenance checks to support upkeep and functionality.
• Keep designated supply areas stocked with paper towels, soap, sanitizer, and other custodial supplies.
• Empty, clean, and maintain waste receptacles throughout the center.
• Maintain custodial storage areas in a clean, organized, and orderly manner.
• Demonstrate and model the YMCA’s mission, vision, and values in all interactions.
• Serve as an ambassador of the YMCA’s culture and impact by representing the organization positively.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
