Greater Austin YMCA is hiring an Occupancy Team Member to support daily custodial and maintenance tasks, ensuring spaces are clean, stocked, and guest-ready. The role emphasizes safe, welcoming environments and serves as an ambassador for the YMCA’s mission.

The position offers a flexible schedule with up to 28 hours per week, prioritizing organization, teamwork, and strong communication to meet member needs and maintain facility standards.

Qualifications

• 18 years old and a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift up to 20 pounds.
• Experience in custodial or maintenance work is a plus but not required.
• Organized with ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments.
• Team player who collaborates with others and supports a positive environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming center environment by completing custodial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, and cleaning ceiling vents.
• Communicate facility maintenance needs and operational concerns to center leadership and provide solutions when appropriate.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and preventative maintenance checks to support upkeep and functionality.
• Keep designated supply areas fully stocked with items like paper towels, soap, sanitizer, and other custodial supplies.
• Empty and maintain waste receptacles throughout the center.
• Maintain custodial storage areas in a clean, organized manner.
• Demonstrate and model YMCA mission, vision, and values in interactions with members, staff, and guests.
• Serve as an ambassador of the YMCA by representing the organization and sharing our mission-driven work.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
