Job summary

YMCA of the Roses is seeking a dependable Full-Time Custodian to help keep our York facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for our members, staff, and community. This position handles routine cleaning and custodial duties across restrooms, lockers, common areas, and program spaces.

The role supports the Y's mission, with potential duties including window washing, meeting setup, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and related responsibilities. A positive team player attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing the daily schedule and keeping areas and equipment maintained.
• Performs wet/dry mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, vacuuming, and related cleaning tasks.
• Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Records and reports repairs and issues to supervisor.
• Keeps building secure during shift and reports hazards.
• Keeps outdoor areas litter-free and restocks supplies.
• Sets up furniture for events as needed.
