Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance in Honolulu is seeking a dedicated Custodian to clean indoor and outdoor spaces of the warehouse. The role emphasizes attention to detail, safety, and strong English communication to coordinate with the property manager and team.

The position is part-time with Friday 1:00 PM–9:30 PM and Sunday 5:30 PM–2:30 AM shifts. Hourly pay is $18.00, and responsibilities include restocking, equipment operation, and maintaining cleanliness across all common areas.

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and energetic individual to join us as a Custodian. This position, based in the vibrant city of Honolulu, plays a crucial role in ensuring the pristine condition of our warehouse's indoor and outdoor spaces. -Position: Custodian

-Schedule: Friday 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM and Sunday 5:30 PM - 2:30 AM.

-Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00

-Key Responsibilities:

• Ensurecommon areas, surfaces (counter tops, tables, walls), restrooms are clean.
• Adapt to various work conditions, including sub-zero freezers.
• Monitor and maintain common areas by sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and operating equipment such as floor scrubbers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and power washers.
• Restocking supplies such as soap and paper products.
• Safely use ladders to access higher surfaces.
• Ensure the cleanliness of common areas within the building.
• Properly dispose of trash in designated areas.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols.
• Communicate effectively in English with team members and the property manager.
• Report any safety concerns or building issues, such as burnt light bulbs, to management.
• Report maintenance issues when necessary.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

-Skills/Qualifications:

• Must successfully pass prescreen check.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or related experience is preferred, but training is available.
• Strong public relations and communication skills are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Must be capable of performing manual labor, including cleaning common areas, pressing, pushing, and pulling, and frequently lifting and carrying 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
• Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, navigate stairs, and use a ladder, with the ability to stand throughout shifts.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training for the position.
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Experience in forklift operation is a plus.
