Join Our Team at Hawaiian Building Maintenance!

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and energetic individual to join us as a Custodian. This position, based in the vibrant city of Honolulu, plays a crucial role in ensuring the pristine condition of our warehouse’s indoor and outdoor spaces. If you have excellent communication skills and a knack for cleaning, you could be the perfect fit for our team!

• Location: Dillingham-Kalihi
• Employment Job Type: Part-time
• Position: Custodian
• Schedule: Friday 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM and Sunday 5:30 PM - 2:30 AM.
• Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure common areas, surfaces (counter tops, tables, walls), restrooms are clean.
• Adapt to various work conditions, including sub-zero freezers.
• Monitor and maintain common areas by sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and operating equipment such as floor scrubbers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and power washers.
• Restocking supplies such as soap and paper products.
• Safely use ladders to access higher surfaces.
• Ensure the cleanliness of common areas within the building.
• Properly dispose of trash in designated areas.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols.
• Communicate effectively in English with team members and the property manager.
• Report any safety concerns or building issues, such as burnt light bulbs, to management.
• Report maintenance issues when necessary.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must successfully pass prescreen check.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or related experience is preferred, but training is available.
• Strong Public Relations And Communication Skills Are Essential.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Must be capable of performing manual labor, including cleaning common areas, pressing, pushing, and pulling, and frequently lifting and carrying 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
• Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, navigate stairs, and use a ladder, with the ability to stand throughout shifts.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training for the position.
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Experience in forklift operation is a plus.
