Job summary

Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim is seeking a part-time Culinary Aide to prepare and serve meals for residents, following individual dietary needs, while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation practices.

You will assist the Culinary Services Manager, perform tray prep and service, ensure correct temperatures, and support daily kitchen cleanliness and inventory under supervision.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail when setting up trays, using portion control, and sanitizing dishes and equipment.
• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
• Must maintain high standards of personal hygiene while working.
• Interpersonal skills to collaborate with department workers and other departments.
• Ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• Active CPR/BLS Certification and maintain it during employment.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by the local Health Department.
• Knowledge of dietary practices for long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs food preparation tasks as assigned.
• Serve trays at proper time, attractively, and at correct temperature; may assist with food prep.
• Examine completed tray for accuracy and place on the cart.
• Fill orders for between-meal nourishments as assigned.
• Assist in daily and scheduled cleaning duties including work areas, equipment, dishware, and floors.
• Follow facility and state/federal regulations for safety, sanitation and infection control.
• Attend orientation, training, and in-service educational activities.
• Assist with inventorying and storing incoming foods, supplies, and equipment.
