Job summary

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Cytotechnologist to join our team! Schedule: Part-time, day shifts.

Prepares, stains, mounts, and studies cells of the human body to detect evidence of cancer, abnormalities, and other pathological conditions, following established standards and guidelines. Works closely with the pathologist to report abnormalities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Cytotechnology or related field.
• CT (ASCP) certification or eligible required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stain, mount and study cells to detect cancer and other pathologies.
• Prepare and examine microscopic slides from blood, scrapings, or other specimens.
• Coordinate with the pathologist to report abnormalities.
• Adhere to laboratory procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure correct patient identification and specimen labeling.
