Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, Inc. in Baltimore is hiring a Cytotechnologist to support pathologists by preparing cytology material and screening slides for diagnostic assessment. The role includes assisting with FNA and Bronchoscopy procedures and requires a biology-related degree plus a certified cytology credential.

• New Grad must attain CT-ASCP Certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

To assist pathologists in preparing cytology material and screening cytology slides for final diagnostic assessment. To assist with FNA and Bronchoscopy procedures.

Requirements

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree in biology or related field and must have a certificate in cytology from a CAHEA, or other HHS approved, accredited school of Cytotechnology.
• Meet CAP requirements for training and experience if completed before 1994.
• 1 year of Cytology experience preferred
• CT-ASCP or certified by HHS approved agency; New Grad must attain CT-ASCP Certification within 3 months of hire

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
