Job summary

Lansing Community College is seeking a Part-Time Academic Professional - Tutor in Computer Science to provide tutoring and mentoring to students throughout their enrollment. The role requires on-campus presence with evening and weekend assignments during Fall and Spring semesters.

Regular reviews, professional development, and collaboration with academic programs are expected, with pay based on the PT Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or education equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in tutoring, supplemental instruction, learning assistant, teaching assistant, academic coaching, teaching, or training.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Available to work on campus a minimum of 12 hours up to 30 hours per week throughout the academic year, including evenings and weekends.

• Provide learning support to students with proactive tutoring and mentoring.
• Work on campus with evening/weekend assignments during Fall and Spring semesters.
• Participate in departmental training, tutor training, and professional development.
