Job summary

Lansing Community College is seeking a PT Academic Professional - Tutor in Health & Human Services. The role supports students with tutoring and mentoring throughout their enrollment, focusing on learning outcomes, retention, and completion.

On-campus assignments may occur in Fall, Spring, and Summer, with some evening/weekend shifts. Regular on-campus presence is expected; flexible/hybrid schedules may be approved by the College.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or Associate’s Degree with work experience equivalent in Health & Human Services or related field.
• Experience in tutoring, supplemental instruction, learning assistant, teaching assistant, academic coaching, or training.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Available to work on campus 12–30 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning support to students with proactive tutoring and mentoring throughout their enrollment.
• Focus tutoring on learning outcomes for student success including retention and completion.
• Participate in departmental training, tutor training, professional development, mentoring, and annual peer reviews.
