Job summary

Lansing Community College seeks a Part-Time Academic Professional Tutor in Computer Information Technology to provide proactive tutoring and mentoring to students throughout their enrollment. The role centers on helping students achieve learning outcomes, with on-campus assignments across Fall, Spring, and Summer, including evenings and weekends.

Regular on-campus presence is required; flexible/hybrid schedules may be approved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or Associate’s Degree combined with work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in the field(s) of: Computer Information Technology or related field
• Demonstrated experience in tutoring, supplemental instruction, learning assistant, teaching assistant, academic coaching, teaching, or training
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Available to work on campus a minimum of 12 hours up to 30 hours per week throughout the academic year, including evening and weekend assignments Fall and Spring semesters

Responsibilities

• Provide learning support to students with proactive tutoring and mentoring throughout their enrollment at Lansing Community College
• Tutoring will focus on learning outcomes for student success including retention and completion
• On campus work assignments may be scheduled during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, with evening and weekend assignments during the Fall and Spring semesters to best serve student needs
• Collaborate with departmental training, tutor training, professional development activities, mentoring, and annual peer reviews
