Job summary

United Ground Express, Inc. is hiring at Lafayette (LFT) for a customer-focused Airport Ground Basic Agent. You will assist passengers with check-in, boarding passes, and itinerary changes, using reservation systems to rebook and collect fees.

The role requires lifting baggage, standing for long shifts, and following FAA and company policies. You will support baggage services and aircraft preparation, while communicating via radio with crew.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and reservation/ticketing software.

Responsibilities

• Greet passengers and provide check-in and ticketing assistance.
• Rebook itineraries, issue boarding passes, and collect applicable fees using reservation software.
• Ensure passenger data accuracy and on-time flight updates.
• Address passenger issues during disruptions per company policies.
• Assist in Baggage Service Office to track baggage location and respond to questions.
• Maintain composure while handling challenging customer situations.
• Read baggage and cargo tags and prepare aircraft for the next flight.
• Operate radios to communicate with staff and flight crew.
• Assist with loading/unloading baggage and equipment and perform cleaning duties as needed.
