Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Rahway campus on a part‑time basis. The role emphasizes critical care experience, strong clinical judgment, and teamwork within the Post Intensive Care Unit-II.

A NJ RN license, BLS, and ACLS within 6 months are required or strongly preferred. The position offers day shifts with competitive hourly pay, opportunities for professional growth, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of critical care experience, Post ICU preferred.
ASN or Nursing Diploma; Bachelor's degree in nursing strongly preferred.
Strong communication, critical and organizational skills.
Proficient computer skills and EMR experience.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early.
Provide safe, evidence‑based medications, treatments, and hands‑on care.
Serve as a clinical partner to physicians, supporting timely care decisions.
Educate patients and families so they feel informed and prepared for the next phase.
Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with the team.
