Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking a Part-time Party/Events Host at our Round Rock store to plan and coordinate events, including children’s birthday parties, within the store environment. You will deliver friendly customer service, help guests shop, and manage event logistics to ensure a fun, engaging experience.

You will engage with guests of all ages, lead craft activities and demonstrations, and support add-ons like goody bags and balloons while maintaining store standards and safety

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at the Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative, and stress-free experience.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in crafts, and perform face painting and other activities.
• Coordinate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) and communicate plans to clients and store team.
• Handle administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork) and adjust plans based on client feedback.
• Set up, run, and clean up before/after each event; ensure safety and store standards.
