Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care is seeking a Core Lab Coordinator to prepare, log, sort, and deliver specimens, and perform data entry in a busy lab setting. The role involves more complex processing across chemistry, microbiology, cytology, and related areas with system access to laboratory software.

The position requires an associates degree in a science-related field, phlebotomy registry eligibility, and at least 1 year of health care experience.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a Science related field is required.
• Registry (or eligibility) as a phlebotomist or in a science field is required.
• Specialty Certification preferred.
• 1 year of health care experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates phlebotomy communications for day to day.
• Performs add-ons for Chemistry.
• Coordinates the send out area for reference lab testing.
• Specimen processing.
• Collaborates with staff, physicians, patients and outside representatives.
• Performs other duties as requested.
• Operates and maintains departmental equipment and work areas.
• Performs laboratory tests and procedures as required.
