Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care invites qualified professionals to join the NGH Laboratory as a Core Lab Coordinator. You will prepare, log, and deliver specimens and perform data entry, supporting complex processing including Microbiology and Cytology as needed. This onsite, full-time role requires accuracy and teamwork.

The position emphasizes collaboration with departmental and system-wide staff, physicians and patients, with a 40-hour work week and day schedule in Nash County, North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a Science related field is preferred or required.
• Registry or eligibility as phlebotomist or science-related field.
• Specialty certification is preferred.
• One year of health care experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates phlebotomy communications for day to day.
• Performs add-ons for Chemistry.
• Coordinates the send out area for reference lab testing.
• Specimen processing.
• Collaborates with departmental and system-wide staff, physicians, patients, and outside referral representatives to facilitate timely actions.
• Performs other duties as requested.
• Operates and/or maintains departmental equipment and work areas.
• Performs laboratory tests and procedures as required.

Education

Associates Degree in a Science related field

Registry (or eligibility) as a phlebotomist or Science related field

Specialty Certification preferred

1 year of health care experience
