Job summary

Lone Star College in the Houston area seeks a part-time Coordinator I, Division 5, to support day-to-day operations under general supervision. You will help with scheduling, communications, workflows, budgeting, and staff support.

You will enter data, manage resources, coordinate job fairs, and prepare materials for college events, while ensuring compliance and providing strong customer service.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and 1 year of related work experience or equivalent.
  • Proficient in office software and data handling.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Enters, tracks, and maintains data in documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Submit marketing requests, work requests, and maintenance requests for the division.
  • May ensure compliance with local/state/federal processes and documentation within the area.
  • Coordinate and prepare program information and materials for college and community job fairs.
  • Monitors and controls resources such as office supplies; submits requisitions and maintains reconciliation docs.
  • Coordinates calendars and schedules; assists with meetings, seminars, events, site prep, and training materials.

Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Under general supervision, the PT Coordinator I, Division 5provides oversight and facilitation of day-to-day operations withinassigned area of specialty, participating in planning, development,evaluation and improvement. Assists with ensuring smooth andefficient operations. Responsible for coordination of supportfunctions such as scheduling, communications, workflows, supplies,information processing, and staff support. May be responsible forcoordinating budget planning process and for tracking andcoordinating budget expenditures. Makes and communicates processdecisions based on best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Enters, tracks, and maintains a variety of data, includingdocuments, spreadsheets, and databases
  2. Submit marketing requests, work requests, and take care ofgeneral maintenance requests for the division
  3. May be responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance withlocal/state/federal compliance of processes and documentationwithin assigned area
  4. Coordinate and prepare program information and materials forcollege and community job fairs
  5. Monitors and controls resources such as office supplies andequipment needed within the department. Submits requisitions andfollows up with reconciliation documentation
  6. Coordinates various department and management calendars andschedules. Assists with planning, schedules and coordinates variousmeetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation,marketing and training materials, and general support
  7. Takes part in special projects as needed
  8. Responsible for other reasonable related duties asassigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree and at least 1 year of related workexperience, or an equivalent combination of education andexperience
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $17.94
