Job summary

St. Francis Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable Dietary Cook to join our team on a part-time basis. You will prepare nutritious meals for residents, follow approved menus, and ensure foods meet dietary requirements and safety standards.

In this role you will handle meal preparation, proper portioning, food safety, and sanitation while maintaining high quality and presentation. Experience in healthcare food service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe handling practices.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, and special dietary instructions.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Food Handler's certification as required by applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Follow residents' prescribed diets, food preferences, and special dietary requirements.
• Prepare meals in appropriate quantities and ensure food is served at the proper temperature.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and freshness.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
• Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to the Dietary Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with meal service and other dietary duties as needed.
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments to provide excellent resident service.
