Job summary

PACS Group, Inc. is seeking an on-call Cook/Dietary Aide to maintain a sanitary kitchen and assist with meal preparation for residents in a post-acute setting. You will follow menus, monitor portions, and prepare special diets while ensuring food safety and quality.

The role may involve supervising dietary staff in the absence of the dietary supervisor. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least one year as a hospital or long-term care cook, and a ServSafe certificate.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year.
  • Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
  • Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
  • Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
  • Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
  • Prepare special diets accurately.
  • Record food temperatures for meals and prepare pureed foods.
  • Assist with serving meals and supervise dietary staff when needed.
  • Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses.
