Job summary

PACS is seeking a part-time on-call Dietary Aide to support food service operations. The role reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor and involves setting up meal trays, assisting with serving meals, and helping maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen.

Responsibilities include learning the routine quickly, operating the dishwasher, checking water temperatures and chlorine levels, and ensuring a food handlers’ certificate is obtained. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Ability to maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to learn food service routine within a short period.
• Set up meal trays and assist with serving the meals.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes; operate dishwasher.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine.
• Carry out trash and garbage; sweep and mop kitchen; keep surfaces clean.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff; work with other departments.
