Job summary

The Conservation Information Manager at The Nature Conservancy in Indiana supports local and landscape-scale conservation planning by developing and maintaining data systems, GIS libraries, and reporting tools. You will coordinate multiple projects, ensure data integrity, and provide guidance on policies and procedures to improve effectiveness from a team-focused, data-driven approach.

This part-time, 21 hours/week role is based in Indianapolis with a mix of in-office and remote work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and 3 years related experience.
Experience managing, maintaining and populating databases and manual files.
Experience in project management across multiple, concurrent projects.
Experience operating GIS software, analyzing data and producing data reports and creating maps.
Experience interpreting results then developing and delivering training to practitioners.
Experience using common software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and web browsers.
Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage work plans, large project budgets, and project management processes.
Negotiate and contract with vendors.
Ensure integrity of data collection and management related to conservation projects.
Ensure compliance with Conservancy policies and external requirements.
Act as a resource under limited supervision and resolve complex issues.
Travel occasionally to Preserves and Offices across Indiana for meetings, field work, or other projects.
