The Conservation Information Manager participates in conservation planning at various levels across the Conservancy and with Indiana and Midwest conservation partners. They help develop and implement conservation strategies that employ a full range of land protection approaches and that secure public and private support for the Conservancy’s priorities. They develop and maintain documentation, tools and systems for data management, which may include a GIS library and/or database products library. They perform data analysis, which may include processing spatial and other relational data sets, designing advanced queries, and producing professional reports. They compile, manage, and apply information from various sources to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow. They coordinate multiple projects, set deadlines, track progress, and manage completion. They provide expert guidance in meeting administrative requirements based on extensive knowledge of policies and procedures and will implement processes and practices to improve effectiveness. Responsibilities & Scope may help develop and manage work plans, large project budgets, and project management processes. May negotiate and contract with vendors. Ensures integrity of both data collection and management relating to conservation projects. Ensures compliance with Conservancy policies and procedures and with external legal, philanthropic, or accreditation requirements. Under limited supervision acts independently, resolves complex issues within the program area and may act as a resource to others. Some travel to Preserves and Offices across Indiana will be required occasionally to assist with meetings, events, field work, or other projects. This is a part-time (21 hours per week), salaried position based at our office in Indianapolis, Indiana. The part-time schedule will be determined collaboratively between employee and manager. Work is primarily during standard business hours and includes both in-office and remote home office work, with occasional flexibility to support business needs.

This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $35,800 - $37,800 for annual base salary of 21 hours per week (subject to tax withholdings). This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
