Job summary

Arlington Properties in Mobile, AL is seeking a Courtesy Officer to help maintain a welcoming and safe community at our multifamily property.

This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, rent discounts where applicable, and the opportunity to collaborate with property management and local law enforcement to ensure resident safety while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Active or retired law enforcement officer OR military background.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain calm and professionalism in all situations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent observational skills.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and follow company policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence throughout the property by walking the grounds daily.
• Respond to noise complaints and help de-escalate situations professionally.
• Assist residents with lockouts and other non-emergency needs.
• Monitor common areas like pools, laundry rooms, and fitness facilities.
• Check lighting and report maintenance needs to the management team.
• Observe and report vandalism, suspicious activity, or vehicle violations.
• Support overall community safety through routine patrols.
• Contact local law enforcement when appropriate, in accordance with policy.
