Job summary

The City of Jersey Village is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Assistant to support the Parks & Recreation Department in delivering safe, engaging community programs, including sports, camps, arts and events. You will assist with program registration, facility openings and closings, supervise participants, set up and take down equipment, and maintain a welcoming environment for all users.

This role offers flexible, part-time scheduling including evenings and weekends, with opportunities to develop

Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR certification (Red Cross) within 3 months of hire.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• A passion for community recreation and service.

Responsibilities

• Support the Recreation & Events Supervisor in executing community programs and events.
• Help with program registration, facility openings/closings, and supervision of participants.
• Set up and take down equipment and ensure facility safety.
• Interact positively with patrons, assist with public relations, and report any safety or property issues.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for all users.
• Assist with incident reporting and other administrative tasks as needed.
