Job summary

City of Jersey Village is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Assistant to support the Parks & Recreation Department. You will help run community programs, assist with registrations, set up and take down equipment, and supervise participants in a welcoming environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, customer service, and safety, requiring reliable schedule availability including evenings and weekends. First Aid/CPR certification within 3 months is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Wost is willingness to complete First Aid and CPR certification (Red Cross) within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support the Recreation & Events Supervisor in executing community programs and events.
• Help with program registration, facility openings/closings, and supervision of participants.
• Set up and take down equipment and ensure facility safety.
• Interact positively with patrons, assist with public relations, and report safety or property issues.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for all users.
• Assist with incident reporting and other administrative tasks as needed.
