Job summary

The City of Pleasant Grove seeks a part-time program assistant for the Communities that Care (CTC) initiative. This grant-funded position supports planning, outreach, and coordination with community leaders, volunteers, and stakeholders to build support for city-wide CTC activities.

Under supervision, you will help plan events, create social media content, respond to inquiries, and assist the Community Board with meeting prep and short-term goals. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Working in a team environment.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of community engagement techniques.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of basic principles of Prevention Science.
• Skills/Abilities: Read, write, and perform basic math; word processing, spreadsheets, and basic computer applications; organize, file, document, and maintain accurate records; interpersonal relations and public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Meets with community leaders and stakeholders to promote city-wide buy in for the Communities that Care program.
• Assists with activities to engage the community in the Communities that Care program.
• Gives public and group presentations.
• Prepares content to generate social media posts and other marketing materials.
• Communicates with volunteers.
• Assists the Community Board in developing short-term program strategies and goals.
• Assists with Community Board meeting preparation and follow up.
• May attend monthly coalition meetings and support the initiative.
• Perform administrative tasks such as running errands, responding to emails, ordering food and supplies, etc.
