Job summary

Greater Community AIDS Project (GCAP) seeks an Outreach and Education Specialist to support community outreach, public education, and engagement across East Central Illinois. You will work closely with the Executive Director to raise awareness, develop outreach materials, and participate in community events.

Ideal candidates bring strong interpersonal skills, comfort with Canva/Adobe for materials, and a passion for reducing HIV/AIDS stigma.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with diverse communities.
• Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite for outreach materials.
• Familiarity with Facebook and Instagram for outreach and engagement.
• Ability to work independently and with volunteers and partners.
• Lived or learned experience with HIV/AIDS preferred.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.

Responsibilities

• Set up, host, and tear down GCAP outreach tables at events and gatherings.
• Develop educational materials and messaging about HIV/AIDS awareness.
• Prepare materials and displays for outreach activities and events.
• Represent GCAP professionally and promote services in the community.
