Job summary

YAI seeks a dedicated Direct Support Professional - DSP 2 for Community Habilitation in Queens. You will provide one-on-one supports to people with I/DD, teaching life skills and promoting community integration while respecting individual rights.

Responsibilities include implementing plans, supervising, documenting progress, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Requires prior DSP experience, certifications, and the ability to work 3pm–8:30pm shifts.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience as a DSP 1 in a YAI program.
• Must maintain foundational certifications (SCIP-R, CPR, AMAP) or equivalents.
• Ability to meet essential physical demands and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one supports and teach life skills.
• Ensure health, safety and supervision; implement Behavior Support Plans.
• Document services, communicate with families and interdisciplinary team.
