Job summary

YAI is seeking a creative, passionate, and highly motivated Direct Support Professional - DSP 2 for our Community Habilitation services in Brooklyn.

As a Community Habilitation staff member, you will provide one-on-one supports to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), teach life skills, promote community integration, and support residents with activities that maximize independence and fulfill lives.

Qualifications

• Provides one-on-one supports to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
• Promotes independence and community integration through life skills activities.
• Adheres to health, safety and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties of DSP 1, ensuring supervision, protection and care of individuals.
• Provides health, wellness and safety supervision in various settings per individualized plans.
• Responds to crises, deescalates situations, and guides DSP 1s.
• Models professionalism and maintains a clean, safe environment.
