Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified part-time faculty to provide high-quality instruction and student support aligned with the District’s mission of advancing equity, student success and academic excellence. Assignments are made on an as-needed basis and may include day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District’s colleges.

Qualifications

Must hold a Master’s Degree in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication or organizational communication; OR a Bachelor’s in any of the above AND a Master’s in drama/theatre arts, mass communication or English.
Equivalency option available for those not meeting exact qualifications.
Applicant must demonstrate diverse background understanding and respect for Peralta Colleges’ students, faculty, staff and community.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses per approved outlines and student learning outcomes.
Develop and deliver student-centered instruction using evidence-based practices.
Create and maintain syllabi, materials, assignments, and assessments.
Evaluate student performance timely and equitably and keep records.
Submit grades and reports by deadlines.
Maintain inclusive learning environment for diverse students.
