Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty members to provide high-quality instruction and student support in alignment with the District's equity, student success, and academic excellence goals.

Qualifications

• Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with two years of professional experience in Labor Studies/Labor Relations, OR possession of an associate degree with six years of professional experience in Labor Studies/Labor Relations.
• Ability to construct and deliver engaging, inclusive instruction meeting student learning outcomes.
• Commitment to equity and student success and to serving a diverse student population.
• Experience using or willingness to learn the District’s learning management system and instructional technologies.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver effective, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner and maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades and other required reports by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Utilize the District's learning management system and other instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, collective bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and other college activities as appropriate for part-time faculty.
