Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty to provide high-quality instruction and student support aligned with the District's mission of advancing equity and student success. Assignments are made on an as-needed basis and may include day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District's colleges.

Applicants must meet California Community Colleges minimum qualifications in Labor Studies/Labor Relations, or equivalency, and provide transcripts

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications established by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
• Applicants must submit official or unofficial transcripts and provide a complete record of relevant professional work experience.
• Equivalency determinations may be considered through a separate review process.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved outlines and outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction using evidence-based practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance timely and equitably; maintain academic records.
• Submit grades and reports by deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment for diverse students.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond to inquiries.
• Use the District LMS and instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and regulations.
• Participate in department meetings and professional development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in Labor Studies/Labor Relations OR equivalent

Associate degree and six years of professional experience in Labor Studies/Labor Relations
