Job summary

Columbia College in Columbia, SC seeks a part-time Assistant Men and Women's Tennis Coach to support both programs under the Head Coach. The role includes recruiting, travel logistics, practice and match coordination, and maintaining player records.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of college-level coaching experience, plus strong organizational and computer skills. Travel and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business, science or closely related field.
• Must have at least one year of successful tennis coaching experience, preferably at the college/university level.
• Experience in a college environment with interactions with faculty, staff, and students preferred.
• Strong organization, inventory and record-keeping skills.
• Flexibility to work early/late hours, weekends, and travel as needed.
• Valid SC Driver’s License and acceptable driving record; ability to drive a 12 or 15-passenger van.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in developing a successful team to positively represent Columbia College.
• Organizes and manages assigned recruiting efforts and administrative responsibilities.
• Represents the team, department, and college in a positive, professional and ethical manner; responds to media, marketing, fund-raising and community service requests as assigned.
• Assists in scouting and recruitment of new players.
• Coordinates logistics for travel, practice schedules, and matches.
• Supports the Head Coach in handling administrative tasks, such as maintaining player records and scheduling.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
