Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist in Charlotte, NC. You will collect blood and specimens, process and label samples, and assist with patient registration and phone support in a fast-paced clinical lab environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, preferred phlebotomy certification, and familiarity with hospital/lab information systems. Join a team maintaining strict safety and sterile techniques in a central processing lab.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred for facilities where phlebotomy is an assigned duty.
• Familiarity with hospital and laboratory information systems.

Responsabilidades

• Collect and/or process patient blood via venipuncture and capillary puncture timely and accurate.
• Process nonblood patient specimens in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Assist in specimen preparation, receipt, and transport of patient specimens.
• Perform patient registration.
• Provide phone support for patient care areas in a polite and supportive manner.
• Maintain competency with hospital and laboratory information systems as needed to perform job duties.
• Train new team members and/or students in the department including any standard work processes applicable to the work area.
• Receive lab orders from providers, prepares necessary documentation, and perform all routine laboratory tests.
• Maintain necessary documentation for all tests according to standards and labeling all specimens following set standards.
• Maintains knowledge of specimen collection devices and tubes.
• Maintain equipment, keep area clean, stock supplies and keep workspace organized.
• Practice sterile technique and prevent cross contamination; handle blood and body fluids and infectious patients.
