Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a part-time Laboratory Assistant. The role focuses on clerical support, patient interaction, and pre-analytic processing under CLIA guidelines.

Responsibilities include specimen handling, phlebotomy knowledge, and maintaining clean work areas. Requires HS diploma and 1 year lab experience; BLS preferred, CPT certification as applicable.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification preferred.
• State CPT I or CPT II if required by state.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties and phone communication.
• Greet patients and visitors in a polite and friendly manner.
• Demonstrates knowledge of test terminology and phlebotomy procedures.
• Handles specimens pre-analytic phase and reference laboratory processes.
• Stocking of supplies and maintenance of work areas.
