Job summary

The Childrens Ark is seeking an Accounting Assistant to provide administrative and accounting support to the Lead Accountant. This part-time, hourly role targets 25 hours per week and offers the opportunity to contribute to church finances while aligning with the organization’s mission.

You will work closely with the lead accountant, handling general accounting functions, ensuring accurate recording across entities, and supporting office operations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 1–2 years accounting experience preferred.
• QuickBooks experience a plus; ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities across multiple entities.
• Track weekly tithes and offerings and prepare donor statements.
• Process rental income and other receivables; manage vendor files.
• Prepare monthly ministry support payments and reconcile accounts monthly.
• Serve as administrative backup for phones and visitors; other tasks as assigned.
