Clay County is seeking a Variable Hour (Part-Time) Truck Driver with the Solid Waste Department. The role requires a Class A license, 1–3 years of related experience, and a 1-year Heavy Equipment Operation certificate. The position involves driving, operating heavy equipment, and routine maintenance of equipment.

The job is non-exempt with shifts Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, occasional Saturdays, averaging less than 19 hours per week. First review of applications is 10/12/2026.

Competenze

• One-year Certification from a college or tech school in Heavy Equipment Operation or related field.
• 1-3 years of prior work-related experience
• Class A Driver’s License

Mansioni

• Driving Truck
• Operation of heavy equipment including tractor/trailer semi-trucks, skid steers, front-end loaders and tractors to transport solid waste and leachate.
• Responsible for day-to-day inspection and routine repair of equipment.
• Maintain roads, spraying weeds, placing riprap, cutting brush and trees and placing waste in proper disposal area.
• Assist the landfill manager in office functions and fill in for landfill operators when they are on vacation.
• Other duties as assigned.
