Job summary

Lake County Solid Waste is seeking a Driver / Operator - Part-time to join our team in Montana. You will drive transfer trucks to container sites, set and retrieve containers, and unload waste while maintaining equipment and site cleanliness.

The role requires a valid Class B CDL with winter driving experience; Class A preferred. Union coverage applies, and duties include occasional heavy equipment operation and adherence to all CMV laws. Schedule is Thursday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year CDL driving experience in winter conditions.
• Class A CDL is preferred; if you have a Class B CDL, you must obtain Class A by end of probation.
• Ability to operate large trucks and heavy equipment safely.
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
• Roll-off and pup trailer experience preferred.
• Must follow all federal, state, and local CMV laws.

Responsibilities

• Drive transfer truck to container sites; set empty containers.
• Consolidate loaded containers; retrieve loaded containers.
• Deliver and unload containers; clean area around container site and equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment; operate heavy equipment.
• Move and compact waste; perform landfill duties, including working at the ticket shack.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a valid Class B CDL, with an acceptable driving record and a minimum of 1 year of CDL driving experience in winter conditions. Class A CDL is preferred. If you have a valid Class B CDL, you will be required to obtain a Class A by the end of your probationary period. Must possess the ability to operate large trucks and heavy equipment safely and skillfully; be able to conduct minor repair and maintenance of trucks and equipment, work outdoors in extreme weather and temperatures, and work well with the public and coworkers; and must be knowledgeable of all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the operation of commercial motor vehicles. Must be able to lift 80lbs. Roll-off and pup trailer experience is preferred.

DUTIES

HOURS/DAYS

Thursday - Saturday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

WAGE

$27.93/hourly. This is a union covered position.
