Job summary

Lake County Solid Waste in Lake County, MT is seeking a part-time Driver/Operator to operate a transfer truck, set and move containers, and perform light maintenance. The role requires a valid Class B CDL and capable handling of winter conditions.

A Class A is preferred, and you may need to upgrade by the end of probation. The position runs Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a pay rate of $27.93 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class B CDL with driving record acceptable for operations.
• Minimum 1 year of CDL experience in winter conditions; Class A preferred.
• Ability to operate large trucks and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of CMV laws and ability to lift 80 lbs; outdoor work in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Drive transfer truck to container sites.
• Set empty containers and consolidate loaded containers.
• Retrieve loaded containers and deliver/unload.
• Clean area around container site, truck and trailer.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and operate heavy equipment.
• Move and compact waste and perform landfill duties including ticket shack.
• Other duties as assigned.

Driver / Operator - Part-time

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a valid Class B CDL, with an acceptable driving record and a minimum of 1 year of CDL driving experience in winter conditions. Class A CDL is preferred. If you have a valid Class B CDL, you will be required to obtain a Class A by the end of your probationary period. Must possess the ability to operate large trucks and heavy equipment safely and skillfully; be able to conduct minor repair and maintenance of trucks and equipment, work outdoors in extreme weather and temperatures, and work well with the public and coworkers; and must be knowledgeable of all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the operation of commercial motor vehicles. Must be able to lift 80lbs. Roll-off and pup trailer experience is preferred.

DUTIES

• Drive transfer truck to container sites

WAGE

$27.93/hourly. This is a union covered position.
