Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to climb onto and under trucks and trailers for hauling, safety and maintenance checks.
• Safe background check required.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Drive to and from assigned MSW landfills transporting MSW for Pasquotank County.
• Operate a variety of heavy trucks and trailers (roll-off, transfer, recycling, and other solid waste equipment).
• Serve as a substitute when full-time staff are on vacation, sick leave, resignations, or when extra waste tonnage is created.
• Perform safety and maintenance checks on trucks and trailers.
