Job summary

Grigg’s ACE Hardware is seeking a part-time cashier to provide an amazing customer experience. You will greet customers, handle checkout, and assist with store layout and product location while staying motivated through repetitive tasks.

Requirements include good communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Schedule is 20–30 hours per week, with varied days, including nights and weekends. An employee discount is offered.

Qualifications

• Retail cashier experience is a plus; not required.
• Must know how to count change back to the customer.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Skillful communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent physical stamina.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers entering the store and thank customers for shopping in our store.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise.
• Learn and exemplify the Helpful Ready policy of Grigg’s/ACE Hardware.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
