Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with IDD by assisting with daily living tasks and goal attainment in home and community settings.

Part-time DSP roles offer rotating or weekend shifts in Monroe, NC, with compensation at $15.00 per hour. Responsibilities include personal care, housekeeping, meal prep, transportation, schedule planning, and daily documentation in our EHR system.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety knowledge.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning; personal care like bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
