Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Asheboro, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with IDD complete daily living tasks and reach their goals. This part-time role offers weekday afternoons and Saturdays, with pay between $12 and $18 per hour.

You will provide care in homes and communities, assist with housekeeping, meals, personal care, transport to appointments, and daily documentation in the health record.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• A High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn.
• DSPs must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
